Teltronic S.A.U. (Spain) to market a P25 Land Mobile Radio Infrastructure System in the U.S.
The PowerTrunk25 brand will offer a complete P25 LMR suite designed for mission critical communications
KANSAS CITY, Missouri — August 4, 2008 – Teltronic S.A.U.®, a global leader in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) design, manufacture, and implementation, today announced it is entering the U.S. market with a comprehensive P25 communications solution. The first product in the PowerTrunk25™ line is an LMR infrastructure system that will be offered in conventional and trunked P25 digital modes and in VHF, UHF, and 700/800 MHz bands. Specifically designed for mission critical applications, PowerTrunk25 is powerful, secure, scalable, and software upgradeable.
The PowerTrunk25 infrastructure system is based on Teltronic’s field-proven technology developed for its successful Nebula® (TETRA) line of products, with the same architecture, network elements, and RF elements. The end-to-end native IP design allows the PowerTrunk25 system to rely on standard switching equipment to route voice and data packets – reducing switching cost and obsolescence risk. This design also includes Teltronic’s patented method for sending voice over IP/Ethernet, reducing inherent IP delays and optimizing bandwidth requirements. PowerTrunk’s main controller, base stations, and repeaters are completely ready for P25 Phase II TDMA structure; migration requires only a software upgrade with absolutely no hardware upgrades.
“Our PowerTrunk25 infrastructure system leverages ten years of technology expertise designing and manufacturing our TETRA LMR suite of products,” said Juan Ferro, CEO of Teltronic S.A.U. Spain. “PSS agencies that implement our P25 system will benefit from a solid technology that has been tested worldwide.”
With an architecture built for flexibility, scalability, and upgradeability, PowerTrunk25 easily scales from a single site to nationwide. In addition, the FCAPS-based network management facilitates network sharing between agencies and includes interfaces for common transport backhauls. Backwards compatible with legacy systems, PowerTrunk25 has a comprehensive, fully integrated CAD designed to handle large coordination centers. The system exceeds standard security requirements due to its support for encrypted voice to the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), telephone interconnect, and voice logger; multiple algorithms; and OTAR.
“We built Teltronic’s reputation on the reliability of our TETRA IP products, our readiness to customize, and our ability to deliver turnkey systems,” explained Ferro. “We expect to build the reputation of our PowerTrunk line of P25 products on the same principles.”
PowerTrunk is looking for U.S. OEM partners and system integrators to market its PowerTrunk25 suite. We will be demonstrating the PowerTrunk25 digital infrastructure system interoperating with other manufacturers’ terminals at the APCO tradeshow in Kansas City, August 4 – 7, at the PTIG booth #D330.
