New York City, NY — December 7, 2010 – PowerTrunk™ Inc., a global leader in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) design, manufacture and implementation announced that its parent company, Teltronic® S.A.U., implemented important upgrades to the existing Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency TETRA network to ensure the protection of the delegations attending the G-20 Summit held in South Korea in November 2010.
A year ago South Korea was the first Asia-Pacific nation selected to host a G-20 Summit to be held in the Incheon province, near Seoul. Among South Korean’s major concerns was the need to guarantee the very highest levels of security for the attending heads of state, ministers and trade delegations representing the 20 largest economies in the world. The reliability of the public safety communications network was of utmost importance.
In 2006 Teltronic S.A.U. together with its local partner, WITHUS, implemented a TETRA land mobile radio network for the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency (IMPA). The multisite public safety network is a multivendor environment using Teltronic base stations and mobile units together with Sepura handhelds. To accommodate the expected higher traffic density and number of users while guaranteeing continued secure communications during the summit, IMPA requested a number of network upgrades and improvements. Teltronic and WITHUS worked closely with IMPA to complete all upgrades successfully and on time. The TETRA network worked flawlessly throughout the G-20 Summit, one more testament to Teltronic’s reliable and secure professional mobile communications capabilities.
“Our parent company, Teltronic S.A.U., continues to be a growing force in Asia-Pacific. Both the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency and Teltronic’s local partner, WITHUS, have praised the company for the excellent service provided,” states Jose Martin, COO of PowerTrunk.. “We are very proud to have proven the reliability of our TETRA technology and done our part to ensure safety during this historic event.”
